About the event
We are extremely excited to announce our first official event, Feeding Friends! The US Department of Agriculture defines food insecurity as a lack of consistent access to enough food for an active, healthy life. Approximately 26,000 students face food insecurity within Prince William County alone on a daily basis. In Maryland. Food insecurity is a serious complex problem as many people do not have the resources to meet their basic needs, and these adversities increase a family’s risk of food insecurity. For many, their only guaranteed meals are free breakfast and lunch, provided by schools. Our mission is to supply at least 1,000 kids with meals and snacks to help combat food insecurities at home. We are committed to fighting childhood hunger and we are looking to join forces with you! You can help make a huge difference in a small way by way of a monetary donation or placing an order through our Amazon wishlist.
